I bought this for my son who gets nervous before school performances, and he asked me to read it three times in a row. The story about Louie losing his roar really clicked with him, especially the part where he practices his piano song.

My 4-year-old really connected with Louie’s stage fright—the piano scene felt real to him. I just wish the story had a bit more about how he actually practices to get his courage back. The message is solid, though, and the illustrations kept him engaged through the whole thing.
