By Julia Cook, illustrated by Anita DuFalla.  Recommended for readers ages 5-12.

Although clinical depression is often thought of as an adult disease, it can affect children, as well. Unfortunately children might not have the maturity to to understand what is happening to them, or they may feel powerless to change their situation, so they don't speak up about what they are going through. It is up to adults to be on the lookout for signs of trouble and recognize when a child needs help. This activity book offers processing tools and strategies to help children and parents cope with this difficult situation. The perfect companion to Julia Cook's book Blueloon.

28 pages, 10.8 x 8.2 x 0.2 inches, black and white illustrations, softcover.

Kevin C. ★★★★★

My 9-year-old has been struggling to talk about feelings, and this book finally gave us a way in—the illustrations by Anita DuFalla make the heavy topic feel approachable, and the activities in the book are perfect for his age. He actually asked to do the exercises again tonight, which never happens

Thomas ★★★★☆

The illustrations by Anita DuFalla kept my 7-year-old engaged, and the activities gave us a gentle way to talk about feelings. It’s a solid tool for opening up conversations, though I wish it had a few more pages.
