My 7-year-old was in a real "rules don't apply to me" phase, and this story about Noodle actually got through to him. He brought up the book on his own a few days later when I reminded him about bedtime.

I grabbed this for my 5-year-old who argues about every single rule, and the Noodle character finally made it click for her. It says ages 4-8 and that feels right, though my 3-year-old mostly just likes the pictures.

My six-year-old actually asked me to read this one twice in a row, which never happens. The way it walks through Noodle's struggles with rules like cleaning up and listening really clicked for her, and I’ve already seen her pause before breaking one at home.
